L, 26-23 @ Titans (OT). Previous: . Philadelphia Eagles. 9. team. 54.

A pretty substantial drop in our NFL power rankings for the defending champions.

It’s hard to put a finger on the Eagles through four weeks this season. Getting Carson Wentz back is a massive bonus, sure. Philadelphia’s running game was OK, and receiving targets Alshon Jeffery and Zach Ertz each had massive days through the air.

But, perhaps the biggest question mark for the Eagles in their overtime loss in Tennessee was the defense.

Or lack thereof.

This unit had zero answers for Corey Davis, who blew past the secondary with relative ease throughout the game. The pass rush was only a modest factor, and the Titans managed to go 3-of-4 in the red zone.

It’s still early, but it’s looking as if Philly is still dealing with some of those Super Bowl-hangover woes teams often experience the year after winning it all.
