49ers vs. Chargers: Top 5 San Francisco players to watch in Week 4
By Aaron Tan
No. 2: Safety Adrian Colbert
Adrian Colbert is another disappointing second-year player in the secondary. After spending half the season lighting up receivers and playing great coverage in 2017, Colbert has not looked like the same player that he was last year.
The former seventh-round pick only has eleven tackles on the season, and has failed to successfully prevent receivers from catching deep balls in his zone. In fact, Colbert has played so poorly, that Pro Football Focus has him graded at a 36.7, which is one of the lowest grades for a safety in the league.
Colbert is a terrific person and has done a lot off the field to help the community. I am really rooting for him to turn things around, and I genuinely think he can. He awed every Niner fan in his rookie year with his spectacular safety play.
He needs to channel that this week to infuse some magic back into this team.
