Losing quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to a torn ACL was the worst feeling I felt since I first started watching football.

We all waited about nine months to see what the San Francisco 49ers could do with a real franchise quarterback and head coach. And now, after three weeks, the season is essentially over.

Unless No. 2 quarterback C.J. Beathard suddenly magically improves every single thing about his play style, 49ers fans can just skip this lost season and look forward to 2019.

However, this team is not really just about Garoppolo. This is a young and rebuilding team with a lot of crucial pieces for the future to watch.

Here are five of those players to watch against a tough Week 4 road matchup in the Los Angeles Chargers this Sunday.
