NFL power rankings: 49ers stay even, Patriots fall entering Week 3

Wait, so the Dolphins are 2-0 and still ranked this low in NFL power rankings entering Week 3?

Well, yes. Let’s see how Miami squares up against some stiffer competition this year before automatically crowning them kings of the AFC East. But with that unbeaten record and the rest of their divisional rivals having lost a game this far into the season, being in first place has to feel pretty good for the Dolphins.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill tossed for only 168 yards but had two touchdowns in the process and finished with a nice passer rating of 123.1.

That’s good, but the real story behind the Dolphins’ victory was their defense — one which forced four fumbles, one of which was recovered, and managed two interceptions in the win.

Winning the turnover differential usually equates to winning games, and the Dolphins showed why in Week 2.
