Earlier this offseason, no one would have fathomed the Eagles losing to the woeful Buccaneers this early in the season. Especially after the Eagles, who debuted Week 1 on Thursday night, had the added bonus of a mini bye week.

Philadelphia’s offense, minus the running game, was largely effective in Tampa Bay. Although one can wonder how big those two lost fumbles were in the defeat.

The big problem for the Eagles, however, is they had to face a red-hot Ryan Fitzpatrick and Co., who ended up dropping 436 all-purpose yards on a we-thought-it-was-elite Philly defense.

Seriously, who saw that coming?

It hurt the Eagles fell behind early to Fitzpatrick, and quarterback Nick Foles’ late rally just wasn’t enough to put Philadelphia up 2-0 on the young season. At least Carson Wentz (knee) is slated to return in Week 3, according to the team’s website.

Like many teams in the top 10, it’s far too early to worry about the Eagles now. Especially with no one wanting to face the Buccaneers, currently.
