The San Francisco 49ers’ Jimmy Garoppolo was just one of many quarterbacks who left fantasy football owners cringing in Week 1. But get Garoppolo and these four others back in your lineups for Week 2.

Well, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo‘s 2018 debut certainly didn’t go according to plan.

The Niners dropped their season opener to the Minnesota Vikings 24-16, and Garoppolo’s line was less than stellar — 15-of-33 for 261 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions thrown.

Yikes, for fantasy football owners who were hoping Jimmy G would pick up the magic where he left off after propeling the 49ers to a five-game win streak to close out last season.

Garoppolo’s efforts resulted in a mere nine points in ESPN’s standard-scoring, PPR leagues in Week 1. Those aren’t exactly the kind of numbers you’d want from a starting quarterback. And you might have been kicking yourself if you elected to start Garoppolo anyway against a stout Vikings defense at home to open up the season.

As a result, Garoppolo fell in ESPN’s Week 2 quarterback rankings down to No. 14.

Unless you’re in a deeper league, you’re probably thinking Garoppolo is a must-sit heading into Week 2.

Not exactly, though. Playing against the Vikings on the road is one thing. Going up against the Detroit Lions, who allowed New York Jets rookie quarterback Sam Darnold to carve them up on Monday Night Football, is another.

The Lions looked awful on both sides of the ball in Week 1, while Garoppolo and the 49ers offense should be much more effective for fantasy football owners in Week 2. Get him back in your starting lineup.

And if you have one of these other four options you’re possibly considering benching, get them back in your lineup for Week 2 as well.
