Entering the regular season, one might have thought the Arizona Cardinals had enough offensive weapons to support veteran quarterback Sam Bradford, and the defense would be good enough to steal a number of games on the regular-season slate.

Well, Week 1 sure was a reality check.

Bradford tried, at least, tossing for just over 150 yards but finishing with an interception and a 57.6 passer rating. He was sacked twice too. And Cardinals fans are going to cringe every time opponents’ defenders get close to him in the pocket.

Running back David Johnson managed to nab Arizona’s lone score on the day, while wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald added 76 yards through the air.

But even with those usual suspects helping out, the Cardinals defense didn’t do much of anything bottling up Washington running back Adrian Peterson or quarterback Alex Smith, who surgically carved through a still-good Arizona secondary throughout the game.

Rough debut for first-year head coach Steve Wilks.
