It’s weird to think just how good the Broncos can be when they have a good defense and effective quarterbacking play.

Those two factors usually amount to wins, and such was the case over the Seahawks in Week 1.

EDGE Von Miller looked like his Super Bowl 50 MVP self, sacking Russell Wilson three times and adding four quarterback hits in the process. And while Wilson was able to toss three touchdowns during the bout, it’s good to see Denver’s once-elite defense hold Seattle to a mere 2-of-12 mark on third down.

But, of course, so much of the Broncos’ prior woes came on the offensive side of the ball when they lacked even manageable quarterback play.

That appears to have changed with Case Keenum making his Denver debut. And while his three-touchdown, three-interception game wasn’t exactly stellar, Keenum’s first start with the Broncos was far better than anything head coach Vance Joseph enjoyed under center in 2017.

And Denver’s offense looked all that much better because of it.

Let’s see if the Broncos hold onto this early momentum. But for now, they’re looking like legit AFC West contenders after this solid Week 1 home victory.
