NFL power rankings: 32-team overreactions heading into Week 2
By Peter Panacy
Week 1 essentially proved what most thought of the Seattle Seahawks heading into 2018 — quarterback Russell Wilson is very good but will be under constant duress and still lacks a dynamic running game to help him out.
Rookie running back Rashaad Penny made his NFL debut to the tune of 1.1 yards per carry. And that O-line allowed Wilson to be sacked six times and pressured a considerable amount more, which also led to two fumbles during the 27-24 loss to the Denver Broncos.
It didn’t help wide receiver Doug Baldwin exited with a knee injury, yet Wilson was still able to pass for nearly 300 yards and added three passing touchdowns to his line.
Who’s tight end Will Dissly?
He had 105 receiving yards and one of those touchdowns. Maybe moving on from veteran TE Jimmy Graham this offseason wasn’t such a bad idea after all.
Still, even with safety Earl Thomas back in the fray, Seattle’s defense looked a shell of its former self, which will also be a major storyline for the one-time perennial NFC West champions.
