Fantasy football: 5 must-start players for Week 1
By Aaron Tan
No. 5: Wide Receiver Corey Davis (at Miami)
After a strong resurgent 2016 season, the Miami Dolphins fell back to earth in 2017 and returned to the franchise’s mediocre ways.
The team could not do anything on offense and defense. Quarterback Ryan Tannehill is coming back on the offense, so it may turn out to be a decent unit this year, but their pass defense still will not be good and provides the perfect opportunity for the Tennessee Titans’ 2017 first-round pick, Corey Davis, to begin his breakout season.
Davis had an incredibly slow start to his professional career, but really started to make strides in the Titans’ trip to the postseason last year. The second-year receiver has a great chance to build on the end of his rookie year and capitalize on his great matchup against Miami cornerback Xavien Howard, who was ranked Pro Football Focus‘ No. 78 corner in the league in 2017.
Davis will be a valuable commodity in fantasy football this year. And he’ll make that known in the first week of the season.
