NFL power rankings: 32-team post-preseason breakdown ahead of Week 1
By Peter Panacy
In fairness, head coach Sean McDermott is still going through the processes of making the Bills his team.
There are some serious issues, though, and they all start up front. Buffalo’s offensive line figures to be terrible this season, and Pro Football Focus actually ranked this unit 29th in their pre-2018 O-line breakdown.
And this issue was for all to see as the Cincinnati Bengals sacked rookie quarterback Josh Allen five times in Week 3 of the preseason.
Speaking of Allen, there are concerns there too. With the veteran, A.J. McCarron, nursing a clavicle injury that may keep him out for an indefinite amount of time, the rookie might wind up having to start right away. There are plenty of worries there too, as Allen’s setting isn’t exactly ideal entering 2018.
O-line concerns, Allen’s question marks and a 30-year old running back, LeSean McCoy, don’t equate to an ideal offensive situation.
Can McDermott’s defense shoulder the burden? That’s a tough call.
