Stock up: Joshua Garnett

Well, this has been a nice surprise.

After an injury interrupted preseason, and a veiled reference to it from Kyle Shanahan, offensive guard Joshua Garnett may finally be ready to live up to being a first-round pick.

Garnett was a rock during his snaps against the Colts, and his run blocking was one of the reasons Morris was able to run the ball effectively.

The 49ers lacked the ability to run the ball effectively in preseason before then, and it may be what gets Garnett the starting job.

Right guard is still up for grabs, and Garnett has every chance now to grab it.
