49ers stock watch entering Week 3 of 2018 preseason

Stock down: Earl Mitchell

In my opinion, the veteran defensive tackle could be a roster cut very soon.

Earl Mitchell was on the field for only 17 snaps against the Texans. This was way behind a lot of defenders.

To make things worse, Sheldon Day and D.J. Jones have enjoyed tremendously impressive preseasons, and look to be well above Mitchell on the depth chart.

Cutting Mitchell would save $1.5 million in cap room, and it’s looking like the 49ers have the personnel to replace him.
