No. 4: Can Jimmie Ward recover?

Jimmie Ward is probably the most maligned player on the roster, but on his day, he’s a valued member of the 49ers secondary.

It’s no secret he hasn’t had the best preseason. Injury setbacks cut into his time at camp, he’s struggled to settle in his new role at outside corner and in the preseason contest against the Cowboys he mysteriously stopped a very good cover of rookie Michael Gallup and gave up a touchdown.

Ward still has a lot to offer the team with his versatility, and it would be good to see him rebound with a strong showing against the Texans.
