No. 7: Will Nick Mullens continue his momentum?

If you asked anyone this time last week who the No. 2 quarterback was, the answer would be C.J. Beathard.

If you asked anyone now, it’d still be Beathard.

But the difference is everyone is sneaking a glance in Nick Mullens‘ direction.

Realistically, it’s going to take a miracle for Mullens to get onto the active roster.

But at the very least, Mullens turned heads as he looked like a competent quarterback (albeit against third stringers and camp bodies).

Backup quarterback was not a battle anyone expected, and it may not even happen.

Right now, however, the intrigue is there.
