No. 9: Will Dante Pettis catch a ball from Jimmy Garoppolo?
There’s no two ways about it. Dante Pettis has been balling out in camp as a rookie.
He’s been so impressive, that NFL.com even did an article naming him one of the 10 most impressive rookies so far drafted outside of the first round, saying:
"Pettis has quickly emerged as a legitimate threat in the 49ers‘ offense, and he brings remarkable value in the return game. He showed off his big-play ability against the Cowboys last week, logging a 53-yard reception."
Speaking of that reception, it was his only catch of the day. It was a very nice catch, but it wasn’t thrown by Jimmy Garoppolo.
This isn’t a reason to panic, Garoppolo only played a single drive after all. But it will be interesting to see if the chemistry that’s showing between them translates into the preseason contests.
