3. Dante Pettis

If one person has been making noise at camp, it’s been wide receiver Dante Pettis.

After a forgettable early start to training camp, Pettis has gone from strength to strength at camp with his ability to gain separation and his budding chemistry with Jimmy Garoppolo.

While Pettis didn’t see a target from Garoppolo versus the Cowboys (Garoppolo played one drive, so no cause for alarm), he did see four targets overall during the game catching (and dropping) one.

While it didn’t turn into a statement game, he did make the one catch he made count. A long 53-yard beauty:

It was a great play demonstrating the athleticism and separation abilities of Pettis, who hopefully will see targets from Garoppolo as well.
