While there have been a lot of promising surprises during San Francisco 49ers training camp in 2018, there have also been some disappointments. Here are the biggest five so far.

The San Francisco 49ers are into their third week of training camp. So far, there have been a number of nice surprises heading into the 2018 season. Wide receivers Marquise Goodwin and Dante Pettis have been impressive. So has the running game.

And quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has looked like his usual self, another good thing.

But it hasn’t all been the proverbial “sunshine and rainbows.” While some players have flourished and appear primed for a great season, others haven’t looked quite as sharp.

In fact, there have been a few players that have been downright disappointing during camp so far.

It’s still relatively early. After all, the Niners kick off their first preseason contest against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, Aug. 9, and the regular season won’t start for another month after that.

Point being, there is still plenty of time for these disappointments to right the ship and impress over the last month of preparation in advance of Week 1. But for now, their efforts haven’t exactly been up to par.

Here are five players who have been disappointing over their first two-plus weeks of training camp. And while it’s not exactly a red flag to be on this list, these five players will want to start turning things around as soon as possible.
