49ers Pass Rush Still Looks OK Enough

Early on in training camp, Niner Noise’s Aaron Tan described how the 49ers pass rush didn’t look like the liability many thought it would be heading into this season.

If anything, edge rushers Cassius Marsh and Jeremiah Attaochu were regularly in the backfield. And defensive tackle DeForest Buckner? Well, he was a force, as always.

Buckner managed to beat left tackle Joe Staley twice in a row, as shown in the Santa Rosa Press Democrat’s Grant Cohn video (h/t Niners Wire’s Rob Lowder) below:

Staley, one of the better pass protectors in the league, had issues with Buckner — a good sign for San Francisco’s defense.

Meanwhile, Cassius Marsh continued his solid camp play, which is also important given the Niners’ need for him to be the quality outside pass-rusher in sub packages this season.
