With two full weeks of San Francisco 49ers training camp in the books, Niner Noise ranks the five players who have impressed the most so far in 2018.

The San Francisco 49ers wrapped up their second week of training camp last Friday, finishing drills before Saturday’s players’ day off.

Niner Noise recapped the first two weeks, and you can get an idea of the action both here and here. And while the on-field action is nothing like the regular-season contests we’ll see kicking off this September, there has been plenty of competition.

With competition, there are always going to be winners and losers. The Niners have had their fair share of both, and on both sides of the ball too.

But let’s focus on the positives for now, the standouts.

San Francisco has gotten some exemplary play from its wide receivers this training camp — a unit Pro Football Focus ranked No. 24 in the league heading into 2018. And while the 49ers don’t exactly boast a big-name, true No. 1 receiver on their roster, they have gotten some excellent camp production from a number of key names.

You’ll see a couple on this list. Some running backs too, as the position battle for the No. 2 spot behind Jerick McKinnon is about as hot as it can be.

Standouts aren’t just limited to the offense, however. There have been a few defensive guys making some serious noise during training camp too.

Let’s start off there with a top performer from camp you all should expect to be on this list, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
