49ers training camp 2018: 3 questions yet to be answered

During each practice of training camp, we learn more about who the San Francisco 49ers will be in 2018. Here are three important questions that have yet to be answered after the first four days of practice.
Expectations are high for the San Francisco 49ers, and after four training camp practices, hope for the Niners’ 2018 season has only grown.
Throughout the offseason, there were doubts about the team’s ability to build on their five-game winning streak to end the 2017 season. There also were questions surrounding some of the 49ers’ 2018 offseason additions.
Training camp has already begun putting some of these doubts and questions to rest.
On the first day of practice, cornerback Richard Sherman participated in full-team drills, and appeared to be close to full health. Wide receiver Marquise Goodwin picked up where he left off last season, as quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo‘s favorite target:
On Day 2, Niner Noise’s Aaron Tan observed that one of the 49ers’ deficiencies in 2017 — the team’s lackluster pass rush — could be an asset in 2018, with edge rushers Cassius Marsh and Jeremiah Attaochu administering constant pressure, along with the Niners’ star lineman, DeForest Buckner.
The third day of training camp practices was highlighted by the 49ers’ running backs. Backup runners Matt Breida and Joe Williams both provided big plays, and lead back Jerick McKinnon had another great performance, after demonstrating his effectiveness as a runner and receiver earlier in the week.
Day 4 was time for Garoppolo and the 49ers’ passing game to shine, as the quarterback connected often with veteran receiver Pierre Garcon and rookie wideout Dante Pettis. Garoppolo also showed off his deep ball on a pair of throws to Goodwin, who continues to look like a No. 1 receiver:
However, 49ers training camp is still young, and there are a number of important questions that have yet to be answered. Some of these questions will be answered during training camp practices, while some competitions will truly take place during the 49ers’ four preseason games next month.
