Winner: 49ers Defensive Line

San Francisco’s defensive line, particularly in the pass-rush department, is going to be a major focus for the team’s efforts this season.

One of the names expected to stand out, defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, is doing just that.

Per Joe Fann of 49ers.com, Buckner was a force up front. And Aaron Tan’s report suggested the same.

Equally important, though, is Fann pointing out how edge rushers Cassius Marsh and Jeremiah Attaochu were regularly in the backfield generating the pass rush.

The 49ers largely avoided targeting an elite pass-rusher in free agency or the NFL Draft this offseason. And after finishing 26th in sacks generated last year (30), it’s good to see the Niners showing some positive results here.

Let’s hope that continues into the regular season.
