No. 2: Dez Bryant will be a 49er this season

Gee, this would be have been a marquee signing a few years ago. Funny how football can change.

Believe it or not, free-agent wide receiver Dez Bryant does make sense for the 49ers at some level. Bryant isn’t the force he once is, but could still be the red-zone presence the 49ers are looking to be.

Niners Nation broke down the stats:

"In 2017, Bryant ranked 10th in the NFL in red zone targets with 20. He pulled down 11 of those targets and scored five touchdowns inside the 20. Almost one third (31.7 percent) of all the Dallas Cowboys’ pass attempts in the red zone were directed at Bryant—which ranked him fourth in the league."

There are questions concerning his ego and what it would mean for the development of the young receiving corps to have a veteran cutting into the snaps, but I think the 49ers will take a risk to help the team.
