No. 4: Will Jimmy Garoppolo’s Deep Ball Accuracy Improve?

According to Pro Football Focus, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo only completed one deep pass out of 12 attempts in 2017. Not what you want to see from your franchise quarterback.

However, you always have to look at the context of the situation. Kyle Shanahan’s playbook is notoriously difficult to pick up and learn, as it took veteran Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan two years to master it.

Garoppolo only had a couple of weeks before he was tossed on the field last season.

It’s hard to throw deep when one, you are still learning the basics of arguably the most complex playbook in the league. And two, you are still trying to develop chemistry with receivers you just met.

Garoppolo has not been the most accurate in minicamp this year so far, but I’m holding out hope for him.

Practice makes perfect, and if anyone can throw a football, it’s Jimmy GQ.
