No. 5: Will Richard Sherman be healthy?

Richard Sherman is a cornerback who is 30 years old and coming off of a ruptured Achilles suffered in November 2017, about eight months ago.

So yes, the risk is there with Sherman.

But, man, Sherman has been recovering so well from his Achilles injury. He has already done individual work at minicamp and recently practiced footwork drills at a defensive back academy with other NFL corners such as our own Ahkello Witherspoon, the Rams’ Aqib Talib, the Lions’ Darius Slay and the Vikings’ Xavier Rhodes.

And Sherman looks really good out there. He could probably play right now if needed.

Sherman’s infectious personality and unparalleled love for the game combined with his rapidly healing Achilles should bring 49ers fans a Richard Sherman no different from the fun trash-talking shutdown cornerback that we’ve seen all too much of the past five years.

The difference is that he’s on our side now. And that alone should bring you excitement for the 49ers’ 2018 season.
