Tight End

Vernon Davis, Brent Jones, Monty Stickles

For quite some time, 49ers legend Brent Jones was easily the best tight end in franchise history.

Yet he’s since been surpassed by former Niners tight end Vernon Davis who, at 34 years old, is still churning out stats. Albeit for the Washington Redskins now.

But Davis holds the franchise record for both receptions (441), receiving yards (5,640) and touchdowns (55) by a tight end in a 49ers uniform. Jones’ numbers are close, but Davis gets the nod here.

Besides, having Jones as a No. 2 option is never a bad thing.

The tight end list is rounded out by Monty Stickles, who spent eight years with the Niners from 1960 through 1967 and had 207 catches for nearly 3,000 yards and 14 touchdowns while donning the red and gold.
