Comeback Player of the Year: Houston Texans DE J.J. Watt

Predicting the 2018 Comeback Player of the Year would be a difficult task considering the number of prominent players who were injured last season.

From cornerback Richard Sherman to quarterback Aaron Rodgers, the award will certainly feature a tight race throughout the 2018 regular season.

However, one notable player who has a great chance of winning is Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt. Since 2016, the four-time All-Pro player has only played in eight games due to a back surgery and a tibial plateau fracture.

From 2012 to 2015, Watt won the Defensive Player of the Year award three times. He took home those honors mostly for totaling 69 sacks throughout those four years.

There’s no doubt Watt is determined to return to his old form prior to suffering his injuries. Especially since he’s still in the middle of his prime, Watt can come back on the field as if he never left.

With his unstoppable motor and strength, Watt should once again be a formidable force against opposing quarterbacks once the upcoming season begins.
