Comeback Player of the Year: Deshaun Watson (Houston Texans)

Deshaun Watson was the most productive quarterback of the 2017 season by far — until he tragically tore his ACL in practice coming off a game where he threw for 402 yards and four touchdowns against a vaunted Seattle Seahawks defense.

After Watson got hurt, the Houston Texans went 1-8, displaying how valuable Watson is to his team and how good he was as a rookie.

However, this year he has a real chance to follow up on his incredible rookie season that was cut short and lead his Texans to success.

Watson has DeAndre Hopkins, one of the top receiver talents in the league. His crisp route running and insane concentration to haul in contested balls makes him a viable threat to any cornerback. Watson’s other receiver, Will Fuller, is emerging as a player who isn’t just a deep threat, but a guy who can run short and intermediate routes on the route tree as well, just like Marquise Goodwin did for the 49ers last season.

If he stays healthy, Watson will maintain the same production as he did last season, making explosive plays all over the field.
