No. 10: Candlestick Park was the best… well it wasn’t the worst

The late, great, immortal Dwight Clark said it best, “It was a dump, but it was our dump, we had a lot of history there, and a lot of success.”

Damn right, it was our dump.

Sure it wasn’t fancy, sure it was crumbling, sure it wasn’t quite holding up.

But it was still ours, and only we had the right to complain about it. Anyone else that did got shouted down. Hard.

It’s gone now, but we still had a lot of good memories there.

Not the best stadium to many, but we wouldn’t trade the memories for the fanciest stadium around.
