Round 6: WR Pierre Garcon, San Francisco 49ers
Similar to last season, San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Pierre Garcon is undervalued this year, and is regularly drafted well after Corey Davis, who managed just 375 receiving yards his rookie season, as well as Julian Edelman, who faces a four-game suspension after missing all of 2017 due to injury.
Garcon is also returning from a mid-season injury, but the veteran’s injury was considered minor, and required just an eight-week recovery period. Garcon was undervalued last year with poor quarterback play; now the 49ers have QB Jimmy Garoppolo, who averaged approximately 300 passing yards a game without the surrounding talent or experience of a player like Garcon.
While Garcon is unlikely to end the season as a WR1, Davis is even less likely — and barring injury, Garcon is assured to be in the WR2 conversation, which is difficult to find with a late sixth-round, or early seventh-round pick.
