Round 12: TE Jack Doyle, Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle was the seventh-best tight end in fantasy football last season — thanks to his 80 catches, which were second among all players at his position — yet he’s still available in the 12th round of most PPR drafts in 2018. Doyle will have to compete with fellow tight end Eric Ebron for targets this season, but Doyle will see plenty of playing time, as the Colts run two-tight-end sets — particularly 12 personnel — at the second-highest rate in the NFL.

Even with the addition of Ebron, Doyle should see more red-zone looks now that big-bodied wide receiver Donte Moncrief has left Indianapolis for Jacksonville — and if quarterback Andrew Luck finally makes his return to the field in 2018, Doyle will be a main beneficiary.

Given the recent low return on investment for early round tight ends, and the plethora of streamable options on the waiver wire, we choose not to waste valuable early draft capital at the position, and draft Doyle with our 12th-round selection.
