Fantasy football time! For San Francisco 49ers fans, there’s precious little to do until camp begins. So for the fantasy novice or the person who needs just a bit of advice, here’s a basic guide for your fantasy draft.

The beauty of fantasy football is there’s so many ways to become a winner.

So reading this, please keep in mind that this is not the golden ticket. There are several.

But in my years of fantasy football, I have found a draft strategy that’s helped me to perform quite well over the years. It differs slightly from year to year but mostly remains the same.

Keep in mind for this article, it’s a standard league with 12 teams and 15 roster spots. Since strategy does differ depending where you draft I’ve separated them from spot Nos.1 through 4, Nos. 5 through 8 and Nos. 9 through 12.
