No. 2: Jordy Nelson, Wide Receiver, Oakland Raiders (ADP: 5.12)

I’m honestly not too sure why people think wide receiver Jordy Nelson, a player who suffered severe regression last season, is worth any pick in the first half of any fantasy football draft this season.

Nelson looked remarkably poor (at least by his lofty standards) in his last season at Green Bay. His stats fell (note that he missed one game) from 97 catches to 53, and touchdowns fell from 14 to six.

He also struggled to gain any separation: his yards per catch average fell below 10 for the first time (9.1 compared to 13 the previous season) and he had only four catches of 20-plus yards (down from 19 his previous year).

Factor in he’s not catching the ball from Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers, and there is no way I’m gambling a fifth-round pick on a resurgence.

If Nelson does fall much lower (close to the double figures) I would go for it. But 5.12 is way too high for me.
