Niner Noise looks into the San Francisco 49ers’ organized team activities and breaks down which five players have already set themselves apart from the rest heading into the 2018 season.

We are now at the time of the year where football news is like a dreaded wasteland, free agency is over, the NFL Draft is over and training camp is a few weeks away.

However, there are organized team activities, or OTAs for short. OTAs are kind of like a refresher course at the beginning of a school year, players have been away from the game for some time now and they need to get reacquainted with the speed and physicality of the game.

Rookies are getting their first taste of professional football and learning the ins-and-outs of what it takes to be a successful pro.

OTAs are where players, who may be deep on the depth chart, have their first shot at getting the coaches’ collective attention, and it’s a great place to kick things off for the new season to come.

As OTAs have begun, I take a look at five players who have made their presence known and are already setting the tone for the San Francisco 49ers‘ upcoming 2018 season.
