Niner Noise’s “Who Is?” series focuses on the “savior” of the San Francisco 49ers franchise, quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, and his projected impact in 2018.

So who is San Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo?

Well, if you ask Niners safety Adrian Colbert (h/t Niners Nation), Garoppolo is going to be the next GOAT.

“Jimmy G, we out here, man,” Colbert noted. “We locker mates. That’s my dawg. I support him 100 percent. He gonna be the greatest quarterback that ever played. That’s all I gotta say.”

Many San Francisco fans likely feel the same way.

All Garoppolo does is win, after all, turning around a 1-9 49ers team in 2017 and making them undefeated ever since. During that stretch, the Niners put up numbers high-octane offenses put up.

And all with a lesser-known cast of playmakers and personnel around him.

San Francisco has changed from a fledgling franchise into a playoff contender ever since acquiring Garoppolo at the NFL trade deadline a year ago.

Now, with a full year’s offseason working under head coach Kyle Shanahan, the door is open for Garoppolo to have one of those elite-type seasons only the best NFL quarterbacks have.

And it wouldn’t be a shock to see it happen either.

Trying to avoid the hype (hard to do), let’s dive deeper into what we may expect from Garoppolo this upcoming season. Is he really going to be the next GOAT? Or should we temper our expectations a bit?
