Walter Football (Part 1)

Now we go to Walter Football and their two separate drafts.

Pick No. 20: Joe Jackson, EDGE, Miami

Once again, the 49ers are a borderline playoff team in this mock, and they have the 49ers taking yet another defensive lineman in Joe Jackson in the first, saying:

"The 49ers may want to look into adding another pass-rusher to go with Solomon Thomas, given all of the quarterbacking talent in the NFC West. Joe Jackson has been very productive for Miami, thanks to his great speed, length and size."

My take

This upcoming draft is packed with defensive line talent, it’s hard to think of many drafts where one positional group has so much talent in one draft.

So it’s no surprise, given the 49ers are yet to find their dominant pass-rusher, that one of the group has been mocked. Arik Armstead and Eli Harold will need to show that their production can meet their talent, and if they don’t then a replacement could easily be taken.

Jackson recorded 59 tackles (10.5 for a loss), 6.5 sacks and a forced fumble last season.
