. Tight End. Oklahoma. BLAKE BELL. F

Gosh, this seemed like such an enticing pick at the time.

Tight end Blake Bell out of Oklahoma was raw, having played just one year at this position after switching over from quarterback. But his 6-foot-6 and 252-pound frame looked all the part of a playmaking tight end, and San Francisco was on the hunt for a long-term replacement for Vernon Davis, whose career was winding down.

It never happened for the “Belldozer,” though.

Bell spent just two seasons with the 49ers, posting a modest 15 receptions for 186 yards his rookie, and best, season.

A wasted pick, especially considering the 2015 Niners needed immediate-impact players. Not projects.
