The 2018 NFL Draft is in the books, and the influx of new San Francisco 49ers prospects inevitably creates some winners and losers heading into the rest of the offseason. Niner Noise looks at the biggest ones following the draft.

So, did the San Francisco 49ers have a good NFL Draft class in 2018?

If one thing is for certain, the Niners’ 2018 draft class didn’t start off as expected. Few projected general manager John Lynch tabbing Notre Dame offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey at No. 9 overall. But after moving fellow tackle Trent Brown to the New England Patriots the following day, this move made a lot more sense.

Brown could be considered a loser from the 49ers’ draft efforts, although he’ll be joining the defending AFC champions now. So it’s hard to constitute a loss there.

But, as is the case with any influx of talent, there will be winners and losers for the team.

To recap, here’s a list of the Niners’ draft picks:

  1. OT Mike McGlinchey, Notre Dame
  2. WR Dante Pettis, Washington
  3. LB Fred Warner, BYU
  4. DB Tarvarius Moore, Southern Mississippi
  5. DT Kentavius Street, NC State
  6. CB D.J. Reed, Kansas State
  7. S Marcell Harris, Florida
  8. DT Jullian Taylor, Temple
  9. WR Richie James, Middle Tennessee State

A handful of these players could end up being plug-and-play starters, while others could eventually push out veterans from established roles later this season and beyond.

Yes, winners and losers. Here are the biggest following San Francisco’s draft efforts.
