San Francisco 49ers: 2018 NFL Draft recap, best & worst picks
Sleeper Pick: S Tarvarius Moore
Tarvarius Moore’s name did not circulate around too much heading into the 2018 NFL Draft. But after the 49ers picked the Southern Mississippi product in the third round, all eyes started pointing at him.
Despite having safeties Jaquiski Tartt, Adrian Colbert and Jimmie Ward, San Francisco could still add some depth to the position. With his combination of size and speed, Moore fits right in just perfectly.
Moore ran the 40-yard dash in 4.32 seconds twice during his pro day, along with a 38.5 vertical leap. His elite speed and explosiveness and freakish athleticism should help him transition more smoothly into NFL.
Even though his original position is at safety, Moore is versatile and can move around the secondary. Lynch had already hinted at the idea of experimenting with Moore at cornerback, according to the Sacramento Bee‘s Matt Barrows:
Whether he plays safety or cornerback, Moore has the potential to become a mid-round sleeper pick for the Niners. With superb playmaking and coverage abilities, Moore should be fun to watch wearing a San Francisco uniform starting this year.
