San Francisco has found a potential offensive tackle of the future in Mike McGlinchey to protect Jimmy Garoppolo, an insurance policy in Fred Warner with Reuben Foster’s uncertain future and solid additions to its often struggling secondary unit.
However, even after the 2018 NFL Draft, a few lingering questions remain especially regarding the guard and EDGE positions. John Lynch and the 49ers did not address these needs on the roster, unless they already trust certain players to step up and fill those voids.
At offensive guard, will Joshua Garnett return at 100 percent after his season-ending knee surgery? And will Laken Tomlinson or Jonathan Cooper improve heading into the 2018 regular season?

Similarly, pass rushing is still one of San Francisco’s biggest needs heading into training camp. But, with the players the 49ers currently have, including Solomon Thomas, Cassius Marsh and Arik Armstead, who knows which defensive end will have a breakout year?
