While the San Francisco 49ers don’t need a quarterback in the 2018 NFL Draft, plenty of other teams will. Let’s take a look at the five squads needing a signal-caller early on draft day.

The 2018 NFL Draft is only a few weeks away, and plenty of teams are gearing up to take a close look at quarterbacks early.

The San Francisco 49ers, of course, aren’t one of those squads. After trading for Jimmy Garoppolo, then inking him to a five-year deal, the Niners are one of the few teams selecting in the top 10 of the draft not linked to a future signal-caller.

What you’ll likely see in Round 1 of the NFL Draft is the first 10 picks, or so, dominated by quarterback selections. Thankfully, this year’s draft class is pretty deep at the position. And as Niner Noise’s Aaron Tan pointed out, as many as five QBs could be selected before the 49ers’ first pick at No. 9 overall.

USC’s Sam Darnold is surely going to be gone before pick No. 5. And Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield and UCLA’s Josh Rosen are likely top-five picks too. As the draft draws on, Wyoming’s Josh Allen and Louisville’s Lamar Jackson could be called early as well.

We’ve already looked at dozens of mock drafts and projections, but it’s still anyone’s guess which teams will grab such players on draft day.

Now, let’s look at the teams most in need of a quarterback in this year’s NFL Draft, ranking them from No. 5 to No. 1.
