No. 3: Trade down with the Arizona Cardinals in Round 1

The Arizona Cardinals are still in dire need of a quarterback despite signing Sam Bradford this offseason. With their 15th overall selection in this year’s draft, it seems unlikely a high-ranking quarterback prospect falls to their position.

As a result, Arizona might elect to trade up within the top 10 of the draft. One particular team the Cardinals might contact is San Francisco.

The 49ers may also decide to trade back, in case none of their desired prospects is available at No. 9. They might also trade down if they like a player projected to be taken later in the first round.

Therefore, here is the potential trade between the two NFC West teams:

Although, the Cardinals would only move up if a quarterback is still available at No. 9. Wyoming’s Josh Allen and Oklahoma’s Baker Mayfield are two notable QB prospects who could still be on board with the ninth overall selection.

For San Francisco, Lynch and the front office might choose to trade down if they see a value elsewhere. The 49ers could still draft a player such as Boston College EDGE Harold Landry and UTSA defensive end Marcus Davenport with the 15th overall pick.

Plus, the Niners would receive a second-round and a seventh-round pick in exchange for trading down.
