As we near the day of the 2018 NFL schedule release, Niner Noise predicts how many primetime games the 49ers are going to get this upcoming season.
It’s that time of the year again — schedule release season.
For some reason, I’ve always looked forward to this day like I was looking forward to Christmas. There’s just something very intriguing about what conditions the 49ers will play in on which network.
For example, if the 49ers were slated to play the Buffalo Bills in Week 15 (December) on CBS Sports at 1 p.m. ET, you can imagine waking up early on Sunday morning to watch Jimmy Garoppolo throw a touchdown to Pierre Garcon in the raging winter Buffalo snow.
Before the 49ers traded for Jimmy Garoppolo, I would never think that the team would get any more than the standard Thursday Night Football game that every team gets because of how dysfunctional the team was starting the 2017 season 1-10.
But after Garoppolo’s hot five-game win streak to end the 2017 season, the whole country is hopping on this 49ers bandwagon, which will result in more prime-time games in the 2018 season for San Francisco.
So how many prime-time games will the NFL give the 49ers for the 2018 season? And which ones will they be?
