It will be interesting to see if the Super Bowl champion Eagles suffer any sort of hangover after pulling off the upset over the Patriots last February.

Perhaps, although it’s hard to see head coach Doug Pederson letting that happen.

For now, it seems as if the Eagles are going to hold onto Super Bowl LII MVP Nick Foles, who did about as much as one could ask for a backup quarterback, replacing season-MVP candidate, Carson Wentz.

Wentz’s rehab from an ACL injury will be something to monitor. If healthy, there’s little reason to assume Philly’s offense will be just as good as it was a year ago. Possibly better.

Defensively, the Eagles lost cornerback Patrick Robinson and had to part ways with defensive end Vinny Curry. Those are some notable voids, and Philadelphia’s pass defense might be the lone area general manager Howie Roseman needs to improve during this year’s NFL Draft.

If the NFC West wasn’t so stacked, it would be easy to see the Eagles making a return bid to the Super Bowl again this year.

They’ll have a tough road ahead of them, especially with the rest of the league painting a target on their backs. Fortunately, the Eagles are still set up nicely to be a contender for a number of years down the line.
