46. . . Previous: . Indianapolis Colts. 31. team

The Indianapolis Colts weren’t exactly big players on the free-agent market this offseason, which is a bit of a shock when looking at the numerous needs they have on both sides of the ball.

OK, so signing tight end Eric Ebron may help the offense a bit. But he isn’t exactly a difference maker, and that’s what Indy needs right now.

Of course, so much of how the Colts fare this upcoming season will hinge on quarterback Andrew Luck and his elongated shoulder injury/recovery. There are mixed signs, still, whether or not he’ll be ready to go by Week 1 — essentially the same worries that existed a year ago at this time.

If Luck is ready to go, he’ll assuredly need some time to shake off the proverbial rust.

Even with first-year head coach Frank Reich at the helm, the Colts have a long way to go before turning things around. At least trading down from the No. 3 spot in the NFL Draft gave general manager Chris Ballard some much-needed draft capital.
