NFL power rankings: Final 32-team breakdown ahead of the 2018 draft
By Peter Panacy
The Seahawks were very close to going through the offseason from hell.
Just consider all these losses:
You’re looking at the crop of players, especially on defense, that helped the Seahawks remain playoff contenders for the past few years. All are gone now, while defenders Kam Chancellor (neck) and Cliff Avril (neck) may not play a down of football this season.
Combine those losses with a complete overhaul of the coaching staff under head coach Pete Carroll, and all signs point to Seattle hitting the reset button.
But the one thing keeping the Seahawks above a team like the Bills in our NFL power rankings is the fact they have quarterback Russell Wilson under center.
He’ll need to essentially put this entire team on his shoulders for Seattle to stand a chance. At least he’s the kind of player capable of doing so.
