With free agency completed for the most part, we now have a better grasp of the San Francisco 49ers’ positional needs. Here are some positions the team may have to bypass on early in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Coming into free agency, the San Francisco 49ers had holes to fill. The team did just that, signing center Weston Richburg, running back Jerick McKinnon and cornerback Richard Sherman (after being released by the Seattle Seahawks) in free agency.

Interior offensive line play was an issue last season for San Francisco; Richburg helps alleviate the concern there.

With the departure of starting running back Carlos Hyde to the Cleveland Browns, there was an opening at the position. McKinnon, one of head coach Kyle Shanahan’s top targets in free agency, is now slotted to fill that vacancy with Matt Breida as the No. 2 back.

Besides cornerback Ahkello Witherspoon, who is coming off an impressive rookie season, there was no other viable option on the roster to be the other starter. Then Seattle opted to release Sherman.

After a dinner with Shanahan in Los Gatos, California, the two sides came to an agreement. Now, the 49ers have their two starting cornerbacks in Sherman and Witherspoon.

All of these moves will have an impact on how the 49ers decide to approach the NFL Draft.

While some positions may seem like immediate needs, that is not the case in my mind. These are three spots San Francisco might have to skip early in the draft.
