17. player. 13. . Defensive Tackle. Washington. Vita Vea

The Los Angeles Chargers have two excellent edge rushers in Joey Bosa and Melvin Ingram, but they need a big presence along the interior of the defensive line.

Especially after giving up the second most rush yards (2,098) last season.

What L.A. should be looking for in Round 1 of the NFL Draft is a true roadblocking presence at the 1-technique, and that’s exactly what Washington’s Vita Vea is. A solid run stuffer, as well as someone capable of offering a decent interior pass rush.

Simply put, Vea is the kind of presence who wreaks havoc along the interior of an opponent’s offensive line. Putting him on the field would only serve to make pass-rushers like Bosa and Ingram even more potent.
