The San Francisco 49ers are heading into the 2018 NFL free agency looking to address multiple positional needs. Although signing potential starters is a must, the Niners would still need to find several players to add depth to their overall roster as well.

General manager John Lynch and the entire 49ers front office have kept themselves busy this offseason. The team has been looking to solve its issues most notably with its pass defense and pass protection.

Thus, San Francisco needs to prioritize its dire needs at cornerback, defensive end and interior offensive line.

With a plethora of available cap space, the 49ers are capable of bringing in prominent free-agent names. Even after its hefty deal with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, San Francisco still had the fifth most cap space in the league, according to Over the Cap.

The 49ers had about $70 million in available cap space, until recently making a huge splash signing All-Pro cornerback Richard Sherman.

The addition of the former Seattle Seahawks defensive back immediately addresses the San Francisco’s need at cornerback. Although, because Sherman is still recovering from an Achilles injury, it is uncertain when he will return to his elite form.

As a result, Lynch and the front office would need to find a player or two who can hold down the fort while Sherman is bouncing back. The 49ers have to then address their lack of depth at cornerback, along with a few other positions on their roster.

To bolster up their roster, here are five under-the-radar free agents San Francisco could target.
