Even after the San Francisco 49ers inked quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo to the largest contract in NFL history, general manager John Lynch still finds himself north of $70 million in available salary cap space for 2018.
$70,060,420 to be exact, which ranks fifth most among all teams this offseason, according to Over the Cap.
Lynch noted the team would be “aggressively prudent” when NFL free agency officially begins on Mar. 14. Despite the team’s five-game win streak to close out 2017, and all the accompanying talk about a possible 2018 playoff push, Lynch still has plenty of needs to address.
